The Temiskaming Shores and Area Chamber of Commerce is a member-driven organization dedicated to supporting, promoting, and advocating for local businesses across our region. As we continue to revitalize and grow, we are seeking a dynamic and passionate Executive Director to assist in leading
our organization into its next chapter.
Position Summary
The Executive Director is responsible for the follow through of the strategic direction, and day-to-day
operations of the Chamber. Reporting to the Board of Directors, this role will drive membership growth,
strengthen community partnerships, and ensure the Chamber remains a strong and effective voice for
businesses in Temiskaming Shores and Area.
Key Responsibilities
● Provide strategic leadership and implement the Chamber’s mission, vision, and goals
● Manage daily operations, programs, and administrative work of the Chamber
● Build and maintain strong relationships with members, stakeholders, and community partners
● Lead membership recruitment, engagement, and retention initiatives
● Oversee financial management including budgeting, reporting, and funding opportunities
● Plan and execute events, networking opportunities, and business initiatives
● Advocate on behalf of local businesses with municipal, provincial, and federal partners
● Support and collaborate with the Board of Directors and committees
● Manage communications including social media, newsletters, and public relations
Qualifications & Skills
● Post-secondary education in business administration, communications, public relations, or a related field or equivalent experience
● Proven leadership experience in a non-profit, business, or community organization
● Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities
● Experience with event planning, marketing, and membership-based organizations is an asset
● Knowledge of the local business community is considered a strong asset
● Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work independently
● Valid G2 Drivers License required for travelling to local businesses and events
Compensation & Scheduling
● Hourly Wage: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated
leadership abilities
● Work Schedule: Full-time hours with flexibility to attend occasional evening or weekend events
● Flexible Work Environment: Ability to balance in-office responsibilities with community engagement and event participation
