Permanent Part-Time Position
The City of Temiskaming Shores is a perfect mix of lifestyle, prosperity and location

in its public library facility. The successful candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment as front-line staff in delivering the services of the Temiskaming Shores Public Library.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Performs all duties associated with the library service desks: greeting patrons, checking in and out of material, renewing material, enrolling new memberships, renewing memberships and collecting any associated fees, managing holds on materials, as well providing excellent customer service
• Maintains the library’s various collections by shelving and shelf-reading.
• Responds to a variety of users’ informational needs such as reader’s advisory, referrals to alternate information sources, providing online searches, aid in completing online forms on government websites, printing and computer help and facilitating interlibrary loans
• Answering the telephone and using the telephone to call patrons for holds, overdues, provide routine information or transferring calls
• Providing general clerical support including recording statistical information and handling cash
The following qualifications will be considered:
• Post-secondary education in a related field
• Experience and knowledge of technology devices: tablets, phones, e-readers, etc.
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Internet and database searching
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent public speaking and presentation skills
• Experience in customer service
• Good general knowledge of literature, current affairs and trends
• Acceptance and appreciation of working in a team-based environment
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and Saturdays
• Bilingualism in French and English is an asset
Salary: $24.47 hour. This position will be scheduled to fill in sick days, vacations and other leaves of absence.
