ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Steel Fabrication Design & Operations Coordinator to join our growing team. This role combines technical expertise in drafting, design, and estimating with operational office support, including health & safety coordination. Working in a fast-paced, high-stress industrial fabrication environment, you will play a critical role in ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across both fabrication projects and company operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Steel Fabrication / Design

• Prepare accurate quotes and cost estimates for steel fabrication projects.
• Draft and design steel components, assemblies, and structural elements using industry-standard software.
• Assess designs and determine the most efficient fabrication methods to maintain dimensional accuracy and ensure proper fit-up and assembly.
• Work with project managers and shop staff to resolve technical challenges and recommend practical solutions. 

Operations & H&S Support

• Support the operations team with administrative tasks, scheduling, and coordination.
• Assist with health & safety risk assessments, documentation, and compliance initiatives.
• Provide cross-functional support to ensure smooth operations in a busy office setting. 

QUALIFICATIONS

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting & Design, Business/Operations, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in steel fabrication estimating, drafting, or design coordination.
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and Inventor (or equivalent design software).
• Familiarity with health & safety systems in an industrial environment is an asset.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stress environment with competing priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
