Timiskaming Area - Contract Position with Possibility for Renewal

 

Background

The Timiskaming Area Ontario Health Team (TAOHT) represents a partnership of more than 20 organizations spanning the district of Timiskaming, inclusive of Temagami. As one of 58 Ontario Health Teams (OHT) introduced by the Ontario government, TAOHT aims to build a more connected health care system centered around patients, families and caregivers. Bringing together health care providers and organizations TAOHT strives to work as one coordinated team to strengthen local services, reduce inequities and make it easier for patients to navigate the system and transition between providers.

 

Position Summary  

Working closely with and reporting to the Transformation Lead, the Performance and Evaluation Project Lead will support Timiskaming Area OHT partners as a learning health system. This work will require the application of a participatory approach to evaluating how care programs or services are working and/or could be improved to better meet the needs of patient populations. Specific areas of work include equity promoting integrated care for local population living with diabetes, strategic planning and other initiatives as assigned.  

 

Responsibilities Include  

·         Review, analyze and synthesize health system planning, research and utilization data for the purpose of identifying gaps and opportunities and making recommendations that align with local, provincial, and regional priorities and needs.

·         Utilizing appropriate quantitative and qualitative methodologies; conduct effective stakeholder engagement related to program or service evaluation, support strategic or program planning and performance monitoring and quality improvement.

Qualification and Experience

·         A master’s degree in health evaluation, health sciences, public health or related field with an emphasis on health services outcomes and evaluation.

·         Demonstrated ability to conduct rapid reviews and syntheses of existing research and evaluation evidence.

·         Advanced knowledge in evaluation theory, research designs and methods including participatory approaches.

·         Experience with planning and executing quantitative and qualitative data collection and data analytic approaches (descriptive and inferential statistics, regression analysis)

·         Demonstrated ability to effectively and efficiently synthesis and interpret comprehensive data.

·         Excellent skills in effective communication and data visualization for diverse audiences.

·         Strong facilitation and engagement skills for both in-person and virtual environments.

·         Demonstrated ability to apply patient-centred and health equity frameworks in aspects of work.

·         Capability and interest in working on a small team, on multiple priorities and in an emerging organization.

·         Ability to use tact and discretion in dealing with health care providers, patients, family and caregivers.

·         Demonstrated professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues.

·         Training on Indigenous cultural safety, accessible French Language Services, Anti-Racism, Anti-Oppression and health equity is an asset.

·         Bilingualism is an asset.

·         Ability to travel across TAOHT geography, when required.

 

Role Specifications

·         Temporary full-time contract (until March 31, 2025) with potential of extension and contingent on funding.

·         Hours of work: 37.5/week with ability to work flexible hours.

·         Salary: $35.80 to 45.64/hour commensurate with experience.

·         Eligibility to enroll in Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP).

·         Percent in lieu of benefits, vacation pay.

·         The candidate must be a resident of Ontario. Work can be performed remotely, with some onsite requirements and travel across the district.

 

Blanch River Health will issue the employment contract, but the employee’s role will be wholly dedicated to the Timiskaming Area OHT.

 

NOTE: The TAOHT is open to secondment arrangements for current employees of health and human service organizations.
