Temiskaming Hospital is a 79-bed fully accredited acute care community hospital located in Temiskaming Shores, ON. We are currently accepting resumes for a casual Laundry Aide / Porter to join our team.

Reporting to the Support Services Manager, the Laundry Aide / Porter is responsible for washing and drying laundry, following standard procedures in the safe operation of laundry equipment, neat folding of articles and reporting malfunctioning of equipment, and delivery of linens to multiple departments.

Requirements include:

• Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma
• Ability to read, write, speak and follow oral and written instructions in English
• You will be required to perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis, while keeping up with the flow of work
• Pushes and pulls laundry exchange carts and laundry hampers
• Uses sewing machine to do patching and repairs to opened seams
• Must have an excellent work record including attendance
• Must demonstrate a commitment to ensure your safety, the safety of fellow workers, patients, volunteers and visitors
• Must support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events in the organization

Assets:

• Commercial laundry experience is an asset
• Ability to speak fluently in French and understand spoken French
